O make me Thine forever;
And, should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never
Out live my love to Thee.

Smoking Ban in Central Park Begins

I'm not gonna lie. I'm pretty  thrilled with this decision

I was basically forced to move out of my apartment in 2009 due to second hand smoke. My neighbor smoked continuously and it poured into my apartment from the closet, the floors, the bathroom. It was awful and made me not only smell like smoke but physically sick. The management company said there was nothing they could do so my roommate & I had to live with it for a few months and then eventually had to find a new place.

Because there are basically no indoor public smoking areas, the sidewalks are usually full of smokers on my commute in midtown.  At least I can enjoy some outdoor space that will be guaranteed to be smoke free in the park. I am super thankful to be able to run in the park and walk around Times Square smoke free. Now to get smoke free apartment buildings in NY!! That would be awesome....and so very California of us :).

"A pack of Newport Red cigarettes at a Midtown convenience store: $11.50. Drum rolling tobacco (rolling papers included): $13. The cost of getting caught smoking in the pedestrian plaza in Times Square: $50." NY Times
