Manhattan through Spiritual, Southern, Single eyes

Quote

O make me Thine forever;
And, should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never
Out live my love to Thee.

Signs of Reconciliation in the South

A friend recently posted this link to a NY Times Article about relationships in the south. This article immediately made me think of one of my favorite passages of scripture, II Corinthians 5:18-19.

It says, "All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation."

While I understand this verse is talking about spiritual reconciliation between a holy God and a broken humanity, I also believe that where Christ brings reconciliation in our eternal relationship with Himself, He is also actively bringing reconciliation in broken relationships here on earth.

This article on race relations in the south is really encouraging and shows signs of Christ's beautiful work at redeeming the ugly hatred in our history. May we not pass that hate on but be ministers of reconciliation.

On earth as it is in heaven.

Amen!
