Abe Weintraub may be the oldest man in history to take up running. In fact, when he was 87 he ran his 5th NY Marathon. Weintraub, now 90, started running just after his wife died 10 years ago. He had never been much for sports, but after his wife died the very next year, he kept on running, as an antidote to loneliness and loss. The reporter asked him when his wife passed away. ''I can't remember,'' he says, and there is a catch in his voice. ''I always think of her smile, her beautiful smile, and she took that with her.''
One of the fellow runners said, "We need inspiration, and Abe is incredible."
